CanAmMex 2015

Mexico will host to the 2015 CanAmMex Regatta from July 6th to July 13th.  This year’s events are being sponsored by the Mexican Rowing Federation.   All training and racing will take place at the 1968 Olympic Venue, Virgilio Uribe in Mexico City.  The Virgilio Uribe course is an artificial venue that was built for the Rowing and Canoeing competitions in the XIX Olympic Games.

Racing will be contested in twelve events including the men’s and women’s single sculls, double sculls, pair, quadruple sculls, four with coxswain and eight.  Rowing Canada Aviron is still finalizing details to ensuring this is a high quality event.

The event brings together junior competitors from the United States, Canada and Mexico.  This team comes out of the High Performance Camp and is Phase II of the camp.

The CanAmMex Regatta serves two purposes: first, to bring together each country’s top developmental junior athletes, coxswains and coaches for friendly, yet high level competition; secondly, this regatta provides a life opportunity for its participants and serves as a cultural experience. For many, CanAmMex will be an important step in development toward further Junior National team, Under 23 and Senior National Team opportunities.
